Tamaqua Film Studios is a state-of-the-art film studio complex slated to break ground in 2024 in Tamaqua, PA. The Tamaqua Film Studios will feature eleven sound stages, an on-site hotel, catering facilities and offers the nation’s largest indoor green screen facility measuring almost the size of a football field (sixty feet high, one hundred twenty feet wide and two hundred sixty feet long).
Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania, this fifty-acre film studio complex is repurposing old coal mining land into a greener and cleaner industry use for the region. Located in a federal opportunity zone just two and a half hours from New York City, Tamaqua Film Studios is poised to have a competitive edge over more established studios in the northeast as well as newly planned studios currently in development stages.
Tamaqua Film Studios offers unique incentives not available at any film studio location in the United States. Specifically, a reimbursement of taxes paid by production companies (including sales, payroll, and corporate taxes) through the Tamaqua City Revitalization Improvement Zone (CRIZ) Authority. When you couple the CRIZ incentive with a 30%-35% production cost savings (compared to comparable studios productions in NY/NJ) and a 25% PA Film Tax Credit (recently raised to $100M in July 2022), Tamaqua Film Studios will undoubtedly become a go-to facility for the film industry.
Tamaqua Film Studios will begin operations in 2024 and is currently accepting reservations for film and television projects slated for 2024.
